Muri Ghonto(Fish Head With Rice)

Ingredients:

A medium size fish head(usually Rohu fish)

1 cup rice(washed)

1 potato(cut in cubes)

2-3 red dry chillies

2 tsp cumin paste

1 tbsp ginger paste

1 tsp turmeric powder

Mustard oil

2 cups water

2 bay leaves

2-3 pieces cinnamon

Salt to taste

Procedure:

Marinate the fish head with turmeric powder and salt. Heat 4 tbsp (or more if the fish head is bigger) of mustard oilin a pan. Fry the fish head in it. Remove and break into medium sized pieces and keep aside. Heat around 2 tbsp of mustard oil in the pan. Add bay leaves, chillies and cinnamon. Add ginger paste and fry for a while. Add the cumin paste and fry some more. Now add the fish pieces and cubed potatoes and toss around for a while. Add the rice, turmeric powder and salt and stir well. Add water, cover and cook till the rice is just done. Remove from heat, give a stir to separate the rice grains, cover and keep for a few more minutes. Serve hot.
